I almost got out of my seat to intervene, but I let Mr. Irwin continue. He said, " I know you are the one singing, but when I start to sing with you I am helping you get back on key. As soon as you get back on key I will stop singing and you can have it all." Audrey agreed with the proposal, so he continued. " That means when I start to sing, you do not throw your finger up to shush me. You keep your finger down."
I am not going to lie, I was rolling. Her pet peeve is for someone to sing while she is. I don't know how many times she has thrown her finger in my face to tell me to be quiet. She has agreed to let him sing and help her get back on key, but we will see if she can break that bad habit. Poor Mr. Irwin, every lesson is an endurance test of patience and grace.
