1 hear and do not understand - hard hearted
these people simply refuse to accept God's word, they refuse to hear it.
2 hear and receive but has no roots - Lighthearted
These people receive the word, but do not have the support to grow and flourish through the difficult times in life.
3 hear and receives, but does not last- Half hearted
These people receive, but become distracted by all the "world" has to offer. Money, possessions and power overshadow any love for the Lord.
4 hears, receives and produces fruit - receptive Heart
People who are soul winners, prayer warriors, behind the scenes or up on stage in front of thousands. These people through their lives produce fruit.
A second parable tells the story of a farmer who plants wheat, and later an enemy plants weeds in his field. Weeds and wheat look the same in the beginning. They must grow up side by side until the harvest. At that time the weeds can be separated out. In the same way we must live side by side, believers and unbelievers alike until the judgment when we arre separated out and the unbelievers are cast into the fire.
Looking at the list of four ways people hear the gospel, you can tell all of these people will not make it to Heaven.
As we grow side by side in our Churches how many of the people with us are not really saved. I know I have had both a light hearted and at other times half hearted relationship with God. I guess the true test is in the fruit you produce. It does not matter if you believe Jesus is the son of God. Satan believes it. It is what you do with that knowledge and how you apply it to your life that matters.
