I believe in the ABC's of Christianity. A person must
A. Admit that they are sinner
B. Believe Jesus died on the Cross for their sins
C. Confess their sins.
The next step is to invite the Lord into your heart and let him take control of your life. God then sends the Holy Spirit to dwell within us. 24/7 the Holy Spirit is inside you, fully aware of every breath you take, every thought you have and every goofy thing you do. My question to you is, Is he on the inside looking out?
I am a planner, and also by nature a list maker, especially of priorities. I am so proud of myself when my list reflects God as my top priority and I am in my little routine of daily devotional while my son Landon takes his nap. Of course, I also attend Church on a regular basis, I even teach on occasion. While giving myself kudos for the wonderful Christian I am it occurred to me that God is on the inside of my life looking out.
Don't misunderstand, I believe devotional time, prayer and church attendance are vital and important for every Christian. However, if these few times a week or month or year, are the only time you engage in fellowship with the Holy Spirit, you are missing so much. I am missing so much. I have made a list of my priorities and by doing so created a pyramid. God, Husband, Children, everything else. If you picture my pyramid you realize the smallest piece is God's. The pyramid is a true reflection of my life. What engulfs most of my time? The world, the daily demands and monotonous things we do.
While making a list of priorities and placing God at the top, I am not honoring him. I am limiting him. I am making a conscious decision to acknowledge God 30 minutes a day in the afternoon, if Landon takes a good nap and If I don't have something else going on. WOW, I am sure he is impressed. I also pray for 2 or 3 minutes before I fall asleep. Is that quality time??? Church attendance, although a very good habit, can easily become a religious ritual. Attending out of obligation, routine, or expectation is not honoring to God.
Allow the Holy Spirit to be a constant companion. Let him be the center of your life and attention. If you begin to acknowledge his presence during your day, your day will be brighter. That may sound crazy, but God knows all the words to every Johnny Cash song. If you are driving in the car and your favorite Cash song comes on mentally mention it to the Lord. He already knows it is your fave, and he has already heard you sing it a thousand times, but you can still honor him by acknowledging his constant presence with you, and including him in your daily tasks.
When some guy turns out in front of you, instead of your usually road rage reaction, say to God," Did you see that guy, WE,(me and you), almost hit him." Then you can laugh because you tattled to God. His ever presence will bring you joy, Peace, harmony, and a rhythm to your life. You have to make the decision to not force him to dwell locked away in your heart until your conveniently arranged weekly meetings, Or for your every crisis you need assistance with.
John 10:10
10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

I encourage all women to read Proverbs 31 v10-31. This proverb describes the perfect wife. I read it and began to think of the description in modern terms. I don't consider myself an unworthy wife, because I can not make fine linens and girdles. I have made a list of duties to be done by a virtuous wife, as it applies to modern tasks. I am sure everyone who reads this proverb will have different opinions and we will all be right. God will tell you how it applies to your life. Start blogging by creating a new post.
